How can I stop being sad on Mother’s Day?

Holidays can be tough sometimes, even Mother’s Day. You might think it’s a special day to celebrate, but if you’re like me, you might feel sad as it gets closer. The older I get, the more I think about why I feel this way.

When I think about my life and why I feel sad, I realize it’s because of things that happened in the past. Sometimes it’s even things that happened just yesterday. These feelings are still inside me, and that’s one reason why I feel sad when holidays come around.

These feelings often have to do with things that happened when I was a kid, a teenager, or even a young adult. But I never really dealt with them or forgave them. It could be stuff that happened with my family, like my brothers, sisters, or parents. Now, when we all come together to celebrate a holiday, I have to face those feelings and maybe even see someone who hurt me in the past.

It’s hard and stressful to face those things. So how do I make myself feel better? Well, I think the first step is to admit to myself why I feel this way. Then I try to forgive whatever caused those feelings. It’s important to be brave and face your true feelings. You also need to forgive yourself for feeling the way you do. Sometimes we even feel bad for feeling sad, and that makes me even sadder.

Remember, it’s important to be kind to yourself. We all have feelings, and sometimes we can’t control them when we’re in tough situations. Life can be tough, but we can get better when we understand that it’s okay to feel things. By being kind to ourselves and working through our feelings, we can set ourselves free. So let’s be kind to ourselves and make ourselves free.
