how do you accept pain and move on?

by | Jun 10, 2023

Dear friends, I would like to share a little about my life and how it unfolds for me. I am a father of three young adults and, like many of you, I have worked hard to provide for them alongside my wife. I work in construction, while my wife takes care of our home.

Nobody works tirelessly for their family, hoping to experience pain in the future, especially when it comes from the very thing you have dedicated yourself to. However, life is often unfair. But what does that really mean? Does it imply that life is inherently bad or unjust? Not at all. It simply means that nothing comes without effort. And I’m not referring solely to money, but also to the absence of pain and hard work.

nothing is without pain

Everything in life requires effort. If you feel hungry and need to eat, you must cook, and cooking demands effort. Personally, I’m not much of a cook, but my wife is excellent in the kitchen, and I witness the hard work it entails. Even the enjoyable aspects of life demand effort and can leave us tired. Activities like going on vacation, visiting the beach, or playing games with our children. These moments, which bring joy and make our lives feel alive and happy, also take a toll on our bodies.

So, how do I accept pain and move forward? Well, just like with the enjoyable activities I mentioned, they bring happiness but can also tire us and cause physical discomfort. However, we don’t give up on these things in life simply because they can be draining. Instead, we rejoice in the memories of how they made us happy and stronger, especially when shared with loved ones. We then rest our minds and bodies, eagerly looking forward to further building those bonds.

moving forward from pain

The same can be said for any other form of pain. The truth is, pain is not everlasting. We must endure the present and find solace in remembering the good times we had before, the people who love us, and the love that has been shown to us during our moments of suffering. By focusing on the positive aspects of life rather than the pain, we discover that there are more good things that make us stronger. It is essential to accept the love offered by others and allow them to help us. Often, we shut ourselves off from that helping hand, only intensifying our pain. Remember, we are not alone. Let us cherish every good moment in life, maintain our sanity, and find healing.

Often times we feel sad and when this happens we tend to meditate on life, and we get good insight but we forget right after, unless we write it somewhere and when we less expect it we come accross our thoughts and they lifts us up. This is that place for me, and this post helped me see me once again…
